PLS is Looking for Interns

Sales and Marketing Internship

 

Pennsylvania Legislative Services (PLS) has an opening for a marketing and business intern for fall 2010. The ideal candidate is a business, marketing or management major or recent graduate, with an interest in constructing innovative, compelling ways to reach new clients and looking to gain experience at one of the midstate's premier small businesses.

Among various duties, a marketing and business intern will help the PLS Marketing and Sales group create new strategies for outreach to potential clients. The intern would also help construct updated marketing lists, emails, letters and other promotional material to use for future outreach.  Interested candidates should email a resume and cover letter attn: Deborah Hannon at internships@mypls.com, or fax their materials to 717-236-5097.

  

Legislative Internship

Title:  Legislative Internship Description: Looking for a hands-on experience in state government? Pennsylvania Legislative Services (PLS), a legislative tracking and reporting company based in Harrisburg, is looking for legislative interns for fall '10. Duties include attending hearings, committee meetings and press conferences and writing articles or reports on those events, summarizing legislation and assisting in the maintenance of our website, as well as general office duties such as scanning, faxing and photocopying. Interns will be compensated and we are willing to work with the interns to ensure that they receive academic credit when possible. Hours can range from 20-50 hours/week, depending on the needs of the intern, the schedule of the legislature, and the number of interns hired. The ideal candidate will have an interest in politics and/or the political process, excellent writing skills and be familiar with computer programs such as adobe and the Microsoft Office.

This is a great opportunity to get involved with politics and the legislative process. The start date of the internship is flexible, around the beginning of January. IT Internship
Title:  IT Internship
Description:

Pennsylvania Legislative Services (PLS) is searching for a technology focused intern for the spring semester of 2010 to assist with the development and maintenance of various websites and online databases. Responsibilities would include the creation of customized online applications to assist with the delivery of legislative data and information to subscription based clients. Ideally, the candidate will have .Net, SQL and HTML experience. Dot Net Nuke experience is a plus. Compensation will be provided to interns and we will help you obtain credit with your school.
